Silmitasertib

Silmitasertib is the first selective, orally available CK2 inhibitor to enter clinical trials. CK2 is a constitutively active serine/threonine kinase that phosphorylates over 300 substrates including PTEN, p21, and caspase-3, promoting survival and suppressing apoptosis. Active in haematological malignancies and cholangiocarcinoma; CK2 inhibition also augments immune activation by promoting type I interferon signalling.
